Transliterate

Terms of Use

The short version: the tool is free, it runs in your browser, and spellings for anything official deserve a second check.

Using the site

You may use the transliteration tool and the alphabet tables free of charge, for personal or commercial work. Don't attempt to disrupt the site, pass it off as your own, or use it in ways that break applicable law.

No warranty

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Romanization has competing standards, and this tool applies one practical scheme per script, documented on the alphabet tables page. Passports, visas, academic citations and legal documents often require a specific official standard that may differ. Check against the standard your institution requires before submitting anything. The site's operator accepts no liability for losses arising from use of the output.

Not translation

The tool converts letters, not meaning. Its output is a spelling aid, never a translation, and shouldn't be presented as one.

Changes

The tool, the mapping tables and these terms may change at any time without notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

How your text is handled (it stays on your device) is covered in the privacy policy.
